ABOUT US

The Langshan Club of Australia was formed at a meeting of Langshan breeders and fanciers at the 1960 Sydney Royal Easter Show. The foundation President was Mr. Syd Giles. In the following two years the membership grew from ten in New South Wales to more than eighty throughout Australia.

The first Langshan Breed Handbook was produced in 1962 at a price of four shillings.

In August 2008 a group of Langshan breeders in Queensland had a meeting and decided that to be able to promote the Langshan breed more in Queensland there needed to be a Branch of the Langshan Club of Australia in Queensland. An approach was made in September 2008 requesting approval to setup the Branch. At the Annual General Meeting of The Langshan Club of Australia Inc on Saturday 20 June 2009 at Penrith Showgrounds the establishment of the Queensland Branch as an affiliate was approved unanimously.

On Saturday 27 June 2009 at Beaudesert following the Australian National Titles of the Australorp Club of Australia Inc a meeting was held to form the Langshan Club of Australia (Queensland Branch). At that meeting Mr Denis Dowdle was elected President, Daryl Andrew was elected Vice-President and Rod Lucht was elected Secretary/Treasurer.

The Langshan Club of Australia (Queensland Branch) was incorporated on 28 August 2009.
